Ame's Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients:
- 100 grams granulated sugar (½ cup)
- 120 grams firmly packed light brown sugar (½ cup)
- 115 grams unsalted butter (8 tablespoons or 1 stick), softened or cold, cut into 1/2-inch pieces (depends on preferred texture)
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- 175 grams all-purpose flour (1 1/4 cups)
- 1 1/4 cups (200 grams) all-purpose flour
- ¾ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 200 grams semisweet chocolate chips (1 ½ cups)
- 130 grams walnuts or pecans, toasted and chopped (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet.
- Cream together butter and sugars, then add egg and vanilla.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients.
- Combine the wet and dry mixtures, then stir in chocolate chips.
- Form 12 dough balls and bake until the edges are golden brown.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet briefly before moving to a wire rack.
